Before You Begin
1. Schedule to take the GMAT at www.mba.com and have results sent to Eller MBA, institution code 4832.
2. If English is not your first language, arrange to take the TOEFL in time to submit test scores before application deadlines.
3. Update your professional resume.
4. Ask two professional associates if they will recommend you to the program — verify correct spelling of their names, titles, and contact information.
5. Consider the following to prepare for writing your essays:
- How will the Eller Evening MBA affect your short- and long-term career goals?
- What do you bring to the program that others could benefit from?
- Why is this a good time for you to pursue an Eller Evening MBA?
- What important upcoming initiatives will you face at work?
- What should your organization be doing that it's not doing now?
6. Gather the following:
- Citizenship information (if not a U.S. citizen)
- Undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) GPAs
- Names of previously attended colleges and dates attended
- Names, titles, and contact information of 2 recommenders (professional associates only)

Complete and mail the Transcript Request Form. |

Give the Recommendation Forms to your recommenders, reminding them that they will need to mail a letter of recommendation with the form as indicated in the form instructions (mailing address appears on the forms). |

Write your essays answering the following questions; essays should be in 12-point type, double-spaced, 750 words or less.
Essay 1: Please describe your short-term (immediately following the MBA) and your long-term career goals. In what ways will the Eller MBA enhance your career and what experiences will you contribute to the Evening MBA class? Why is now the right time for you to pursue the Eller Evening MBA program?
Essay 2: You are the Managing Director of a specialty minerals business with $200 million in annual revenue, headquartered in London, England. One of your major areas of growth is through global expansion. A critical region of growth is in India, and you have negotiated with the federal and regional authorities to construct a plant outside Bangalore. Because of the large installed local customer base, this factory will contribute strongly to your financial performance this year. In fact, it will be impossible for you to reach your financial targets without a timely and seamless plant construction and transition to full operating production.
As you sit in your office on a rainy London morning, you consider your situation. You are more than a month behind schedule due to a myriad of construction and regulatory setbacks. Your senior management is highly concerned about the situation, and specifically warning you about not hitting your financial targets for the year. As you ponder your situation, you receive a phone call from your local project manager in Bangalore, indicating there is yet another potential setback—the local electrical inspector who was scheduled to approve the factory power distribution system has cancelled, and cannot reschedule for another 3 weeks. The inspector, however, has told your project manager he could eliminate this “unfortunate” delay if he were to receive a personal payment—a bribe. The amount would not be very great, perhaps only 5 or 10 pounds sterling ($10 or $20 USD).
